Introducing Share & Track: The Easiest Way to Share Courses and Measure Engagement

ReleaseTutorialSlate Builder

Creating a great eLearning course is only half the battle. The harder question is: did anyone actually engage with it?

If you're not using a full LMS, tracking course completion typically means awkward follow-up emails, honor-system confirmations, or just hoping for the best. That's why we built Share & Track: a simple way to share your Slate courses and see real engagement data without the overhead of traditional learning management systems.

How It Works

Access Share & Track from the Publish menu

Share & Track lives in the Publish menu of every Slate course. Here's how to use it:

  1. Open the Publish menu and select "Share & Track"
  2. Create a tracked link with an optional name to help you identify it later
  3. Configure your settings, including whether to require consent
  4. Share the link with your audience via email, Slack, or anywhere else

That's it. Every time someone opens your link, their progress is tracked automatically. No plugins, no integrations, no LMS required.

Built-In Analytics

Create and manage tracked links from the side panel

Once you've shared a tracked link, the analytics are available right in the Slate editor. Click on any link to see:

  • Viewer list: who accessed your course and when they last viewed it
  • Progress tracking: see how far each person has progressed through the content
  • Completion status: know exactly who finished, including assessment pass/fail results
  • Export to CSV: download your viewer data for reporting or further analysis

You can create multiple tracked links per course. This is useful when you're sharing with different groups: create one link for your sales team and another for marketing, then compare engagement between them.

Email Capture with Optional Consent

Welcome modal displayed to course viewers with fields for name and email, a checkbox for email consent, and a Continue to Course button
Viewers enter their details before accessing the course

Every tracked link captures the viewer's name and email before they access the course. This lets you know exactly who viewed your content, not just anonymous pageviews.

If you want to use those emails for marketing, you can enable a GDPR-compliant consent checkbox. Viewers who opt in are flagged in your dashboard, so you know who's open to being contacted.

All email addresses are stored securely and only accessible to you as the course creator. If viewers return later, their information is remembered so they can jump straight back into the course without re-entering their details.

Use Cases

Share & Track works well for a variety of scenarios:

  • Training verification: send a tracked link to your team and see exactly who completed the required training
  • Product demos: share interactive course demos with prospects and measure how much they actually engaged
  • Lead generation: gate your educational content to build a list of qualified, interested contacts
  • Client previews: share course drafts with clients and confirm they've reviewed the content
